I ended up going for the Porsche NT530 diagnostic kit because a few other kits I had tried would not communicate with the airbag system on my Porsche 911 (996 variant) Very pleased to report that this does work on the airbag & abs system in the 996, I also believe this will be the case with the 986 Boxster also (but I would double check with diagnostic world)

I was able to diagnose the ABS & check engine lights in my Cayman 987. The codes so far have thrown are for an O2 sensor and an ABS sensor, both of which I plan to tackle in the next few weeks, but for now I have the power to diagnose my own car and allow me to do the work and save a bit of money. Was advised to go for this kit by the guys at Diagnostic World.

I have to thank Alistair @ Diagnostic World for hooking me up with this kit. I orignally bought the iCarsoft i960 for an airbag light in my 986 boxster, however it would not communicate with the car for airbag faults. It was my fault because I didn't read the listing correctly but Alistair did point out that the i960 was no good and I needed to upgrade to the NT530 Porsche diagnostic kit in order to read & clear the codes.

Having previously bought a kit from Diagnostic World for my Audi, I was confident in coming back to them and they did not dissapoint. I actually bought this kit because I was beginning my search for a Porsche 911 997. I wanted to have some sort of diagnostic check before buying and they recommended this kit. As it turns out I ended up buying the 2nd car I test drove.
